Our Crowborough clients were keen to bring a classic quality to their kitchen design, in keeping with the style and age of their property. However, with the narrow dimensions of the room and the décor of the rest of their home, it was clear that the finished space should feel bright, airy, and open and not too fussy or traditional.
The Maddison shaker door was clearly the perfect choice. The distinctive and slighter wider framed cabinetry paired with elegant cup and knob handles and minimal modern coving put a fresh spin on a classic design. A dust grey finish transforms the space. The sophisticated colour scheme is rich enough to create a sense of depth and luxury without overwhelming the room. This understated yet stylish tone creates a stunning backdrop to our client’s vibrant red accessories and quirky vintage dining area.
Bianca Carrara Cimstone worktops establish a clean and bright feel, reflecting light throughout the space alongside the pristine white walls. Lighting is essential to ensuring this long and narrow kitchen appears spacious and open. As well as sleek recessed ceiling downlights, undercabinet task lights offer an additional level of brightness, illuminating the beautiful worktops and creating a warm and inviting glow.

Detailing & Style
One of the challenges of this space was deciding how to incorporate the original chimney breast into the design. To balance the tall cabinets on either side of the mantle and establish a stylish feature, we opted to furnish the base of the chimney breast with stunning tongue and groove panelling matching the Maddison cabinetry. Treating the tricky architectural feature in this way has allowed us to fully maximise the layout and spatial design of our client’s kitchen.
