For many years we have been plying our trade all over Sussex. From the early days when the company was first founded by director Tim Burgess, 'Hastings Kitchen Studio' has designed, created and installed thousands of home interiors for our valued clients.

40 Years In The Making

In 2023 we celebrated our 40th anniversary year and we are extremely proud to have reached this milestone. Many of our staff have been with us for the majority of this time and we have designed and fitted thousands of Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms during this period! Below is a brief history of the company.

1983, When It All Began...

Hastings Kitchen Showroom was opened in St.Leonards-on Sea in 1983 by Tim Burgess and was first opened as a Kitchen studio selling Mobalpa Kitchens from France. Two years after opening, the adjacent shop was purchased and the company diversified into fitted bedrooms.

Branching Out With Quality Bathrooms...

After 6 years of successful trading in St.Leonards the second showroom was opened in Heathfield in 1988 and the company diversified into quality Bathrooms. The name was then changed to HKS Kitchens – Bedrooms – Bathrooms.

1989: Our Third Showroom Opens In Eastbourne

The Eastbourne showroom was the third HKS showroom to be opened in 1989. Matt Haining is the current designer at this showroom.

1996 Sees HKS Open In Haywards Heath

The HKS Haywards Heath showroom was opened in 1996. Gary Sparks is the current designer at this showroom today.
